If you want to update your piece, you are in luck!  We sell Mineral Fusion paint by Homestead House, this paint is amazing and will help you create the look you want.  Classes will be starting at the end of the month so stay tuned!

Did you know we do Estate Sales?

If you have been to an estate sale in the last six years, you would know the name Carol Walser!  Carol  started Bethesda Estate Service and has been in the estate sales business for 6 years!  You ask why would she start a store?  Carol has seen the estate world change over the past year, and sees the need to find other ways to help people dispose of their furniture.   In over half of the Sales in the Washington DC area, furniture is usually left behind and not sold.  This is a huge problem for the homeowner or for the estate that is trying to clear out their loved ones belongings.  Carol has come up with a vision of what we can do to help and complete the job were other estate companies close the door. We work with the client to identify items that would be more successful at sold at auction, items that may be better through an internet sale and of course sales that can take place in the home.   We know that this is a hard time for all loved ones involved, so we try to make the process as simple and painless as possible. Our Services

Over the years we have come to realize that many people do not know how to find the help they need during the moving process. Whether it is what to do first or what do we do with the extra furniture and miscellaneous our kids do not want? at the very minimum, it is an overwhelming task that is both labor intensive and  time consuming.

The Market House is able to help solve part of that important problem -- what to do with the leftover contents of the home once the decision has been made about what will be moved.   We offer buyouts, consignment and moving of these items. Since every situation is unique and different, we reommend scheduling a free consultation to discuss your options.

NEW DIRECTION

No, I am not speaking of the boy band new direction...but as a business we are headed into a new direction. We have collected some really unique pieces from local estate sales that needed a little tender loving care.  These pieces are going to refurbished to become incredibly loved items in any modern home!  We have partnered with Shelley Crist and Lock 21 Studios  all the painting is being done off site and we anticipate new items coming in at the end of next week. A funny thing happened at the store today

So Chris arrives on a Saturday morning to this.....no note, no explanation, just a super unattractive chair sitting by the front door. It all made us laugh that someone would actually take the time to place this chair in front of our store after hours and that we might actually give it a home!  We did not give this poor unfortunate chair a home, we left it outside to see where it might travel to next.   It stayed in the front of the store and was surrounded by some of our lovely store pieces that we place out front when we are open.  We came the chair was there, we left it stayed, and then came back and yes our poor unfortunate chair was still hanging in the front of the store.  We even had a customer who wanted to purchase it for $5 and get it refinished but I think after really looking it over it was better to let the chair stay out front.   Then one day the chair was gone. We have no idea why it came or who took it away but we are happy that it no longer decorates the front of our establishment.

New Inventory

We had the pleasure of assisting a family after they had a death in the family. We went in and helped them with all the details, packing, donations and of course moving. Some of the furniture will be coming to live at the new store. We know it will not be around long because they are some extremely unique pieces.
